Plastering The most common term used for what we do best – several carefully planned stages ensure the very best results. We take great care is completing jobs with minimum fuss and maximum satisfaction. We will prepare the area by laying protective sheets on your flooring or carpets. After removing any dust and debris, bonding PVA is applied to ensure the plaster will dry out evenly. Next comes the fun part – mixing and applying the first coat of plaster. A short while later, we can skim, smooth and scrape if required. After scratching the first layer, the second layer is applied and left to partially dry. We finish by polishing up and sanding where necessary. Once dry, the lovely new surface is ready for paint or wallpaper or tiling! Plasterer Our team of fully qualified plasterers are here to make sure your project runs smoothly. They are trained to the highest level and have built up many years of experience in the industry. Ceiling Coving
Also known as cornice, coving can make the simplest room wonderfully ornate with its beautiful profile and timeless effect. Whether it’s a simple quarter circle design or a more intricate cornice, our team of plasterers can transform any room into a chamber fit for a king or queen! Multi Finish Plaster Incredibly versatile, multi finish plaster can be used for any job big or small. It’s particularly well suited to patching and repair jobs. Its sound insulation properties are very good after skimming. Another useful quality is that permeable paint can be applied to multi finish plaster while it is still wet. Render Rendering is used on external walls to provide a smooth, waterproof layer. Rendering uses similar but stronger ingredients compared with plaster, with notably more cement. Stucco A cement-based mixture resembling plaster, but waterproof and temperature resistant. Once hardened, it’s durable and resistant with a pleasing natural finish not requiring any paint. Please contact us for more details if you want to know more about this type of finish. Dry Lining Internal walls and ceiling can be clad in a fast and cost-effective way by using pre-fabricated plasterboards. If speed is of the essence, the use of dry lining (also known as drywall) can save time compared with traditional plastering, since there is no drying out time involved. However, plasterboards are easier to damage than a plastered wall and should always be sealed. Plastering also provides better soundproofing than dry lining, but don’t worry, we can discuss you specific needs to help you choose the best solution. |
